Can anyone confirm the pic in the Charlton is not a good one, this weight is date marked 79. Can anyone confirm this is the ct142 weight. I am very confused.

I feel the Charlton image of this weight is one of the better ones - just missing the colour information. The colour version of the same image is to be found on Scotland's Glass (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=2881&flypage=flypage.tpl&pop=0&keyword=rose+bud&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6). Whilst the shape of the rose is somewhat different, the colour is right (red).
The 1980 version is blue (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=3083&flypage=flypage.tpl&pop=0&keyword=rose+bud&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6).

Especially as your weight has the 79 cane, I would assume the shape of the bud is a usual variation - and your wight actually is CT142.
