I would welcome any opinion on the manufactures of this strange large piece of glass that I acquired last week. Believe me I have tried all the links and sources that I have picked up since joining this forum to no avail. The piece measures in 34.5cms diameter and stand 5-6 cms in height. The underside in decorated with a white spatter glaze that stands proud of the glass. There is a ground pontil. The actual rim of the vase in a not “level” and has a very handmade look about. It came in a box of vintage Bohemian glass although I have not seen anything Bohemian that resembles it. Any ideas?

Sticking my neck out but I have a vase with similar decor and think it was, possibly, i.d'd as Dugan glass, somewhere to start maybe, ;D

Thanks for taking time out to help me identify my vase. I am currently trawling through Dugan without any luck at the moment. It has at least opened my eyes to yet another area of glass I knew nothing about. Regards Smitty

No problem ;D this is the vase...

It is a posy vase. A style popular in 50s to 70s but older in origin. Decor is a good pointer, no idea on Dugan though. Is the decoration on the surface or cased (clear glass over the pattern. See these pages which include unknown glass but yours is unlikely Nazeing http://ysartglass.com/Otherglass/Nazeing/NazeingG05.htm

The decoration is on the surface. Just as if someone had splattered paint over it. Thanks Frank for your interest in my strange red vase and for the great links..
