I'm almost sure this is American as it has NEAR CUT impressed on the inside of both the lid and bowl. I've never come across this term before but presume it equates to pressed glass having the appearance of cut glass. I've not been able to find the maker, partly because I'm unsure how to describe the pattern correctly, which would help in a search. I've tried combinations of hobstar, sunburst, hobstar diamond etc. but can't find a pattern match or maker.
I'm guessing this is a covered sugar, but could be wrong :-\ It might be a bit too big, with a bowl diameter of 4". Quite a large heavy piece, but very pretty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA ;)

I'll let you find the pattern :P

Ah - a trademark, not a description then.
Many thanks Christine :). I'll pack a hamper and flask and get back once I find the pattern name ;)

You should be able to find it in the MVSG Cambridge database.

My sincere apology. I was informed they were planning on removing the European IP block but evidently not or I would not have posted. You can get around it but I cannot discuss how here although probably most already know.
