Hi Roger
The lampworker at Perthshire in 1991 was Duncan Smith, after the factory closed he set up his own business making lampwork figures of birds, fish and other animals, setting these on pieces of polished stone and he sells them at local fairs. His website is dunc smith glasscraft if you want to have a look

Here's another beautiful weight I have had a long while. Made by John Deacons in 2005 but is it torchwork by one of his friends?

Hi Roger
John Deacons is quite a competent lampworker himself but has used several artists to make lampwork for him to put in his weights including Rosette Fleming, Willie Manson, Duncan Smith and nowadays it is Allan Scott.
I have a feeling the lampwork in your weight may have been by John himself but around 2005 I think Dunc Smith was making it for John me so it is one or the other !
Hope this helps
