Title: ID help! Caithness? Signed Colin Terris?
Post by: blee on April 24, 2014, 12:23:25 AM
Could someone please help with this? I believe it is a Caithness, and it could be signed by Colin Terris. I've looked at the Charlton catalogue, but it does not list this one (Electra, July 1980).

Any ideas where this originated from?

This is a rather unusual design for Caithness around 1980 ... goes a bit in the direction of Meteor (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=3073&category_id=47&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6) / Sunset (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=3074&category_id=47&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6) / Winter Moon (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=3075&category_id=47&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6) / Skyline (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=3076&category_id=47&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6) (all issued in 1980) or Enchanted Forest (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=3248&category_id=48&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=6) (1981) ... all by Colin Terris. Likely an experimental weight during this design period.

Would it be ok with you if I store these images in my database - for possible later use in the Caithness catalogue on Scotland's Glass?

Best regards - Wolf

No problem, it would be okay to store the images in your database.

It is definitely quite unusual for a Caithness, as it is mostly opaque. Also, there are no markings or indications (except for the worn out sticker) on the base "saying" that it is a Caithness.
