Title: Amber glass tray – alternating rows & columns of small & large ‘rosettes’.
Post by: agincourt17 on May 02, 2014, 07:49:44 PM
An amber pressed glass tray decorated with alternating rows and columns of large & small ‘rosettes’. 39cm x25cm.

(Permission for the re-use of these images on the GMB granted by historicfinds62).

Has anyone seen other (presumably trinket set) pieces in matching pattern ?

Comments, suggestions or ID, please?

Fred.

Isn't this a daisy and button pattern, Fred? I've not come across a trinket set in this design, but there is a fair bit of clear tableware in it... I wonder if this is a drink set tray rather than a trinket set one?

Thank you, Anne.

It had crossed my mind that this may have been some kind of service tray (especially with such prominent handles) but I thought it was worth seeing if there were any trinket set pieces to match out there.

There are certainly lots of daisy & button trays too, but I haven’t come across one with this particular shape yet.

Most of the amber trays daisy and button trays seem to be by Fenton or Wright, but the flat tops of the ‘buttons’ are quite obviously flat (see my photo of a Fenton daisy & button hat).

There are, however, daisy and button variants (particularly L.E. Smith pieces) where the ‘buttons’ are more like small rosettes, so it could be that the tray is one of those.

Hmmm, I think it's worth moving this over to Glass, Fred, to see if we can find an answer - perhaps one of our US members may be able to help.
