I found this today, it looks like Victorian glass with a grey heavy dark look to it with inclusions and wear to the base with a polished pontil, all the other Victorian dumps i have had a look at seem to be green.
I'm also not sure if i should have put this in the paperweight bit?.
It's 3 inches in height by 2 3/4 inches in width.
Any help or thoughts to true age welcome.

They do come in 'clear' I believe, yours is well finished, most I've seen and the couple I have are very rough to the base, wouldn't want to guess the age ::) ;D ;D

Hi. As keith says, you do find dumps in clear glass of varying shades. The colourless / grey ones are less common than the green, and the ones I have seen have been of fairly modest quality and simple design (bubbles, rather than flowers). As for age, dumps were made for close on 150 years and it is difficult to say. The term 'Victorian dump' seems to be used rather loosely, as they were still being made well after Queen Victoria had died. Another point often overlooked is that they were made in Northern Europe (Belgium in particular) as well as in the UK.
