I'm having trouble identifying a neodymium vase. The fact that it was neodymium "came to light" while I was testing a uranium-glass bowl. It was on the same table when I used the UV lamp and it changed colour !
I've researched as much as I can so I've learned a lot about this type of glass. I just can't place the maker and or designer.
It weighs 503 grams, 16 cm high, top diameter 7 cm, bottom 4.5 cm.
This is the link to a photo.

Any help is much appreciated.
Do pardon my english, I'm part Dutch
regards,
Marcel

hello Marcel - welcome to the GMB - regret that I'm unable to assist you on this matter, but do hope that someone is able to help you regarding your question. :)
My compliments on the quality of your English, which is very good indeed - I suspect that it is better even than some of the natives of our country ;D

It's a lovely vase but it shouldn't change colour under UV. Neodymium is purple under old-fashioned incandescent light and bluish under fluorescent lights.

There was something similar described as Arnolfo Di Crystal on ebay recently, it looks like a wine glass ?

A wine glass rather than a vase. a wine Hock maybe?
-
They have labels, i might have actually found something on my own i'm feeling very faint.

Had a look on ebay, yes it must be a wine glass. A goblet?
The colour change was violet (daylight) and blue ( uv lighting).
To all, many thanks, I'll be investigating those labels.
Bruce, hope you recover soon ;D

Just a point about UV lights versus fluorescent lights Christine. Fluorescent lights are UV tubes coated with a substance that fluoresces bright white. So it will provoke the colour change in Neodymium glass.
Marcel you will find that a few neodymium glass vessels will turn pale green under UV light but your colour change is by far the most common.

Hello everyone!
I know this is an old threat but as Marcel I am also looking for the maker of the Alexandrit glass.
I bought a whole lot of it for my bar table and I would like to know the origin, if possible.
Does anyone remember the label or has a pic of it?
Thanks, Marco

:) Hello and welcome!
From your first photo, I think the air bubble in the thick stems is intact?
There is no hole in the base, leading to it?
I'm pretty sure we do know the maker when the hole is intact, rather than something copying this style later on and creating the bubble by poking a tool through the base to introduce it.
But I'm very sorry, I can't remember who. :-[
Somebody else will know or remember, I'm sure. :)

I‘m picking the set up tomorrow...will check the bottom then!
I saw them attributed to Böhm, France, Italy. ♂️

I can't read the label. ??? :)
I do think you have a lovely set of good-quality vintage glass there.
It looks absolutle stunning as a very large set, like that. ;D

Please post a photo of the label - in sharp focus but as big as you can make it. Most phones and cameras have a close up setting. Looking forward to see it. The set looks amazing together like that.

Hey,
thanks for your answers!
The pic with the label is from this old topic/an EBay listing back then.
Found it through Pinterest. My glasses don’t have labels.
All of my glasses have a full bubble with no hole...apart from the small shot glasses which have the hole to the bubble and seem to come from somewhere else.
Thanks!

:o Do you own the photos you posted?
We cannot keep the photos showing, if you do not own the copyright, I'm afraid - we could get into legal trouble.
Did the listing you got the photograph from say anything about the label?
edited to add.
It is perfectly ok to show photos hosted elsewhere, by providing a link to the original. That way there is no copyright problem. :)
