Title: Small Vase Identification
Post by: MatW on May 24, 2014, 12:25:34 PM
I have bought this small glass vase and hope someone can help me to date it and to narrow down where it was made? It is 8.5 cm hight and has an inner layer of white glass and an outer one of clear, lightly green glass. I think on the base there is a sand pontil (?). Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated!  :)

I looked around on the internet and could not find an exact match, but could it be something like Bohemian Art Nouveau / Art Deco? What do you think?  :)

It is not a sand pontil - the piece has been cut off from the blowpipe and dropped in sand. It was quickly made, so mass produced and looks quite recent to me. There is nothing to suggest it is 20th century. I would think India or China could be the sources - but I could be wrong as there is no substitute for handling it.

Thank you Ivo, then I am glad I spent only a few Euro for it!  ;) Mat
