I cannot work out if this delicate little thing is in clear glass with a blue trim or all blue. Whatever, it is beautifully made, light in weight yet rings like a bell. It is 14.5 cm diameter and 5 cm tall. My gut said it was something good and suggested Salviati, but as I know nothing about such things, I'm asking you lot

It looks like it could be Christine, clear glass with optic ribbing and blue 'trim' would be fine for Salviati. Does it have quite a small snapped pontil scar?

Yes, up inside the foot about 0.5 cm across

There is nothing that I can see that would say no to Salviati, your description sounds right as well. I don't have enough experience of their wares to give a definite yes, there is the possibility of it being by another high quality Murano maker of the day too I guess. I will have a scan through my books later and see if anything jumps out.

Everything about it is right for Salviati including the form.
It would be nice but I don't think it is a 16th century example

I have no illusions it's that old LOL. Venini could be another option. I haven't found anything like it yet. Thanks for looking John
