Title: Old English Inkwell
Post by: mhgcgolfclub on May 28, 2014, 06:19:02 PM
Old English Millefiori Inkwell.

I am trying to find out if the stopper is original or a replacement as most inkwells that I have looked at have millefiori stoppers.
The stopper does seem to match the colour and appearance of the neck.

Height 5.75" or 15cm.
Diameter 3.75" or 9.5cm
weight 1230gm

Thanks for any help.

Roy

Hi Roy.  Some of the canes look like Richardson ones to me, and I have seen some unusual shaped Richardson bottles.  As I noted on GMB recently, Richardson bottles often have replacement stoppers, because of the thin shaft on the original stoppers - I would suspect this one is a replacement, but it is very hard to be certain.
