Title: ID help - lampworked flower with white rose cane over cobalt
Post by: LesBeatiques on June 02, 2014, 05:16:13 PM
Hello,

This was recently purchased at a French fleamarket and I'm having troubles placing the maker.  It is well made and I'm surprised that it has a flat unfinished frost ground base. The lampwork in the stem, leaves and petals is skilled and the rose style cane in the flower head caught my eye. It is roughly 2-1/4" diameter and 1-3/4" tall.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi.  I wonder if it was a trial piece by Gilles Gicquel or maybe one of his ex-Baccarat colleagues. I recall that at least some of his Baccarat style pieces had deep blue grounds and flat bases. His website does not seem to be working, so maybe he has stopped making glass.
