Maker unknown, probably Czech, circa 1930s.

You will find more examples if you do a seach for "cellophane glass", a name that has been produced by Frank, to describe these well-known pieces. They are often wrongly attributed to being Ysart or Schnieder.

Thanks Sue, I just read a few more threads that say ebay sellers often describe as Monart.

I have a habit of just using "Ysart" rather than going into which specific of Monart, Vasart or Strathearn, but yes, often attributed to Monart. But not Monart.
It's lovely glass, from the same period - perhpas it will develop its own following once we discover who the maker was?

There's also a possibility this type of glass was made in Stourbridge, but as Sue says - we will probably never know the maker (unless a labelled piece turns up!!)
