Hi Keith,

As it is signed it will date between 1946-1956, I'm not sure what shape it is (need a side on view really) but you could look on Ysartglass.com to see if you can find it there, but not all the shapes are shown.

I was wondering if it might be one of the "saucers" that go under the fruit bowls in the fruit sets.

No, it's not that - doesn't appear to be on the site but there are quite a few that aren't.
It could well be part of a fruit / dessert set -  it's about the right size.

But it's not.  ;)
It's too deep for a saucer and the wrong shape for the fruit bowl. The fruit bowls are rounded in the body, swelling up from a narrow base, not flared out.

A posh bowl for the cat??  ;D

It's small saucer size, but as you say too deep for a saucer.

it's not really fancy enough just to be a display bowl, so what is it?   ???

must admit not a shape I've seen before.

Okay, just had a look at some of my bowls - I have some plainer ones that are just "little bowls" for putting odds and ends in, so that's probably what it is!  ;D

You have a Chihuahua? Really?

I'm sure that would do nicely  ;D

I have  Jack Russell terrier - a little dog that thinks it's a big dog.
