showing mostly because I'm very pleased with having now found the amethyst example which, together with blue, are probably the two most difficult colours to find, but amethyst I'm convinced is the most scarce colour in this type of wine glass.
Most coloured glasses like these were apparently intended for white wine or pale sherry - and those with collars are probably a little earlier in the time scale than those without - most dating to c. 1860 - 1900 ish.
the first one is uranium t/o, and the third has a uranium bowl only :)

thanks Keith - I agree they're great colours......... I can only think the amethyst colour is very rare - this was the first I'd seen.
