My husband bought this plate at a local swapmeet. Could be nothing but you never know. Anyone have any ideas? The coloring is imbedded in the glass and not painted on.. Thanks, Lori

I have seen plates with such rims - and more complex insides, for sale in TKMaxx, they were made in Murano Italy, (or at least, that's what it said on their labels!) and another maker of similar plates, mostly square in shape, but in a pale green (window type of glass), made by Portmeirion in England.
Sorry, I can't help more than that. I don't know the maker of yours, but I still suspect it is very recent.

Thanks Sue... I kinda figured as much... Back to the kitchen it goes! Lori

You can happily use it without worrying. ;)
My brother bought a set of the pale green plates by Portmeirion and uses them as stands for all the bits and bobs beside his bathroom sink.
