Title: 1980s Beranak Petr Hora 3-Sided Vase in "Arkipelago" Style
Post by: horochar on June 26, 2014, 01:44:18 AM
Unsigned piece.  I'm hoping to confirm my attribution, which I base on similar, but less decorated, pieces of colored glass over clear similar to Timo Sarpaneva's "Arkipelago" series for Iittala.  Any help would be appreciated.

Charles,

I can see the strong resemblance to Hora's Skrdlovice piece, but I'm pretty sure he didn't design a triangular one.  I thought it could be a later version made by Beranek SRO in the 2000's. I know they used the Hora design a lot, and they also used brighter colours, but I can't see it the one Beranek catalogue I looked at.  The colours adn oveall effect look more scandinavian to me. Did Kosta do anything like this?

Atelier Beranek by the look of it, here is one of their triangular versions: http://www.glassberanek.cz/produkt/159-sklenena-vaza-oranzova-9846-20-s/

Very likely Jiri Beranek as John suggests.
