Is there something I am missing or did someone maybe pull the trigger a little to quick?

Looks like an early English weight, perhaps a rare one?

Looks like Arculus/Walsh Walsh to me and not particularly special so the price realised is odd?

Hi. Nick is correct - an Arculus / Walsh Walsh piece, of modest quality, and not 19th century of course: it is early 20th century. I have seen paperweights offered before by this seller, and 'accurate description' is not the phrase that first springs to mind. If I had been selling it I would have been very pleased with a sale price of US $195.00 - so someone has paid way over the top (or else my collection of Old English paperweights has gone up in value by a factor 4 overnight!).
