Hi all,sorry about the image quality i've had to use my phone today,this weight is about 5cm wide with some wear to the base a recess and 3 nodules of glass that look like they've been reheated as the pontil mark,any thoughts many thanks.

I should add, i don't know how the dark area has come about in the photo,i'll try an take a better one later,in the real it's much lighter.

Hi. I think it is what I refer to as a 'tourist trade piece', and could be from one of many small studios throughout the world. If there is no base stamp or signature it will be hard to tie it down to a specific maker. I usually give similar pieces to our local charity shop.

This may be an Alum Bay weight. It is very similar to one I have and for which, together with an Isle of Wight weight, I set up this message (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,1228.msg7521.html#msg7521).
Within the earlier message I gave a few links to show extra details. One link was to a photo of the impressed mark highlighted for clarity. Without the highlight, it almost impossible to see that there is a mark on the base! I would say definitely an alum bay weight,thanks very much and sorry about the photo's,i've done the round the Isle of Wight walk many years ago ,but didn't buy a reminder of any sort so i'll keep this one on the desk,a beautiful place to visit.
