Title: Glasi Hergiswil Roberto Niederer
Post by: jaybird on June 29, 2014, 01:00:39 PM
I picked up these 3 plates/dishes recently and after scouring the Glasi website I couldn't find anything similar except maybe mini mare but the dimensions are off.

They measure approx 6 1/4" in diameter

They are stickered Roberto Niederer and have a price tag of FR20

I'm guessing these are from the 90's

Has this pattern been discontinued?

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Glass Mesage Board.

I think all Hergiswill glass is stickered that way - but if you want to know full details, just ask them directly.

Paper labels were replaced around 2000 step-by-step (depending on design) with clear plastic labels - so your dish will be pre-2000.

I don't think it is a "Mini Mare" - Mare is not that much undulated, has a different glass structure, and I don't think it would look any good with only 16 cm (6.25") dia.

"Schale/Teller mit Wellenrand (http://webshop.glasi.ch/default.aspx?id=3E5F47A9DD2FEBEA70D24F0F756CF8F3B44E6CA101E262307ABA516E5A38F056)" looks more like it: an old design - already in the 1995 catalogue (the oldest one I have). But the smallest I can find in catalogues is 21 cm dia.

The Wellenrand designs also have some surface structure - your dish looks rather smooth. The (discontinued) "Seerose" design was smooth - see attached image from the 1995 catalogue - but, again, the smallest size quoted is 23 cm dia. Whether a smaller one was available pre 1995 I wouldn't know.

Thanks for your help, They are rather smooth thinnish glass with a minimal amount of wave. I'm just going to assume it is a discontinued pattern. Appreciate the info
