Hi, there is a antique mall near me in Michigan closing the end of the month. A dealer has a 3 inch or bigger weight. It has reds and yellows with kind of a large inverted bubble above the colors. ?? on the bottom is the impressed trade mark of what looks like a Viking sailing ship. Any idea of who the maker is.
It does not really fit my collection but with 25% off it may be worth driving 25 miles to pick it up. Sorry no pictures.
Thanks, Bob

Hi and welcome,
despite it's hard to tell without a picture, I'd like to suggest Gentile in Star City West Virginia...
this maker had a ship with a G on the sail impressed to the bottom,
time was around 1975/1976
a row of Coca Cola weights was also made with similar shape, some signed, and controlled bubble ground,
hope this helps, or at least a Gentile specialist can confirm or reject,
Kind regards, E. from Austria

Gentile indeed used a sailing ship with a G as mark - actually in 1977 (the mark changed each year for some time).
There is (was?) also Mayflower Glass in Brewster, MA, using a sailing ship as mark - and there might be more: so without an image we cannot be sure.
