Title: flower milliefiori paperweight??
Post by: antiquecollectible on July 03, 2014, 03:47:07 PM
Hi

I have lots of paperweights, But I have never managed to identify the maker of this flower paperweight?
usually paperweights of this style are signed, or have a signature cane, But this one has neither?

Can anyone help me please?

wondering why the picture is called "paul ysart.jpg"?  ;)

Could be Ysart, but dont think it is, more likely to be John Deacons I would say.

Hi.  My first thoughts are John Deacons, maybe Willie Manson or Peter Holmes. It is not a Paul Ysart piece.

The right-angled kink at the bottom of the stem strongly suggests (for me) ... Peter Holmes.

Hi Kev.  I think you are spot on. That does look like a Peter Holmes 'kink'.

I agree I am sure that it is by Peter Holmes (or by Selkirk in the manner of Peter Holmes). It is a typical flower of his. I have attached a very similar flower signed with a PH cane.

Peter will be happy to confirm this if he is asked.
