Lovely elephant, clear glass with gold foil all over. Quite big and heavy at a height of 24 cm.
Has a label to the belly I would think is a Fratelli Toso one (it is a little worn, looks more green than blue...).
Having looked around the web for other Murano elephants, these seem quite tough to attribute. Without the label I would have probably thought that it was a 1930s/40s piece ;)
Thanks,
Michael

That is a Fratelli Toso label. Nice elephant. Can I put it in the zoo?
Labels change color when they get washed. I have some Toso labels that have no color left at all, so the labels look silver. I recently had to soak a piece in acetone to get some heavy glue off. It took all the color off the label. Fortunately, the impression of the letters remain. They are unique, so it is easy to tell what label it is even if the color changes.

Thank you, Anita!
Similar elephants seem to have been made by several companies, so good to have the label.
You are more than welcome to put it in the zoo :)
(I will send you an e-mail, I have one more nice animal for your zoo if you like)
