Title: Help to ID small old millefiori paperweight
Post by: mhgcgolfclub on July 15, 2014, 08:12:06 PM
Help to ID this small old millefiori paperweight.

Diameter just under 2.5" or 60mm
Height 1.7/8" or 58mm.

Flat polished base.
My first thought was possibly Baccarat dupont or St Mande but having a look around I do not think it is either of them .

Thanks for any help

Roy

Hi Roy

It's a Murano weight, by the canes possibly Fratelli Toso.

Hi

As Nick says, Murano.  It probably dates to the mid 20th century, so nearly 100 years later than St Mandé or antique Baccarat.  The key point is the very 'spiky' multiple pointed cog canes - no antique maker made canes like that.
