What do you think? I had a quick look and thought this is slightly different to A.S. labels I have seen before and the glass doesn't look like A.S. either.

Could it be a 1980's label? It looks like a perfume missing a stopper.

Hi John - I think you may be right. If it is a new A.S. label it might be useful in the library. If it proves to be so I will write to them and ask if we can use it.

Ardy,
The label looks fine to me. I have what I think is a 80's perfume with exactly the same label. In fact, it's almost indistinguishable from earlier labels. I have a little lidded jar that I think is 1950's and the label isn't much different on that one either.
Is the inside of the neck ground a little or showing signs have had a ground stopper working on it? I ask as the neck looks a little wide. But then again, the stoppers in these were pretty hefty.
It's a nice little piece.

Hi David - I am surprised as I thought this might be a generic label as mine look larger scollops or the A.S. Oval label/ banner/acid etched.
see attached.

Here is one of my perfume bottles plus label. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that this is a generic label (then again, I might not have been listening).

Hi David that is definitely A.S. but it is not exactly like the one I posted on ebay. There again the piece looks almost the same as the ebay one. I had another look at it and it seems to be ground in the mouth so you and John are most probably right and it is a perfume bottle sans the dipper. regards Ardy
