Title: I think these are Archimede Seguso
Post by: ardy on July 29, 2014, 08:22:17 AM
Hi All - just bought these as they are similar to a pair of A.S. perfume bottles I bought 2 years ago. Looking forward to getting my hands on them and checking them out. Interested if anyone has an alternative ID for these as they have no labels.

regards

Ardy

No idea here, more photos plus a photo of the perfumes would be good.

Reminds me a lot of these S.V.C.C. pieces:

I am far from certain all labeled S.V.C.C. pieces were designed by Flavio Poli, though (but who knows -- would be nice if >> my labeled UFO bowl (https://picasaweb.google.com/107330317087089352634/Murano?noredirect=1#5832560530451675858) was  ;D )

It is amazing the similarity of Poli and many A.S. pieces, maybe not so as they worked together. This perfume set and a bowl both labeled is what got me thinking they might be A.S. - just goes to show you can't just go on style or technique and the amount of different stuff they put out in the 50's and 60's is amazing. It must have been a very creative time in Murano (and other arts as well).

I do think the 50's is vastly underrated by baby boomers like me.

thanks Michael

Michael in my reply I forgot to say I think they are exactly the same. I will accept that S.V.C.C ID subject to someone else knowing more.  thanks - Ardy
