Picked up this rather nice cut glass vase at the w/end.Which stands about 150 MM high.
Looking underneath for any marks I saw an acid etched mark in capital letters,BRITISH SAWREX
Has anybody seen this mark before?
thank you.

yes - think one of my recently pictured grapefruits has this mark. If you punch the name into the Boards search you'll have a few threads to read :)
May we please see a pic of your vase?

thanks for the info Paul,i am having probs loading pics.
is the same as the one in the thread
-
thanks - a good piece of glass. sorry to hear of the problems loading pix - the end result will look better, probably, if you use a uniform dark black background and try to illuminate from behind rather than the front. But it's not easy photographing clear glass - gives most of us problems.
regret I've not re-read the Sawrex info. - did you find what you wanted. It's very rare that we ever get those pieces on the Board. :)

Yes Paul I did find the previous threads interesting, there seems to be a strong case that it was produced by Stevens&Williams but there were other opinions.
perhaps one will turn up in the original packageing!

not enough people here collecting cut glass - am sure we'd get some real surprises and possibly lots more of these minority names if the opposite were true :)
