More from Ebay. This was listed as Scandinavian, possibly Elme Glasbruk. There's age related wear on the bottom but other than that it's in remarkably good condition. Height 260mm, weight 882g. It is cased white inside. I reckon it's either American, Polish, pre-war Czech (bohemian), Austrian or maybe even Scandinavian. Any observations most welcome as I clearly don't know...

Perhaps Polish, reminds me of this one: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,54446.0.html

Thanks for that John, I think you might be spot on with your observation. The top rim is especially similar. Funnily enough I was looking at it last night and decided that the finish of the glass looked very similar to a Polish Alicja vase I once had, which was also cased white inside. I don't know anything about Alicja or whether there's any connection with Zbigniew Horbowy. I think the Alicja was made in the 1980s and in fact here's a picture of it - it's 2 feet tall! (the reason I know it's Alicja is 'cos it had a sticker). So there you go, possibly.
