Hi everyone,
Stumbled across this forum and I am hoping you may be able to help.
In 1989 my parents visited Cam Vetri D'Arte and made some huge purchases consisting of:
Huge Black Swan by Signoretti - supposedly only one in the world
2 black and white swan lights too heavy to locate name!
1 black and white swan ornament - Signoretti
1 Panda - Signoretti
1 Naked lady
1 Dog
2 gold swan ornaments (assume all ornaments are Signoretti)
Plus a collection of drinking glasses (40 in all) devalued I presume as they are etched with the family name.
Anyway, my parents have both now died and these items must be valued for the estate. I have emailed the Cam Vetri D'Arte directly but received no response. I have a local valuer coming on Monday but doubt he will have the necessary expertise in this area. I have searched all over for comparable items and auction prices which vary wildly and in some cases require subscriptions anyway. I know that insurance valuations are totally different than those for IHT and so wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of someone 'in the know' for this tricky task.
Any information/opinion all very gratefully received.

You have some very fine glass there by the sound of it, any chance of some photos? ;D

Thanks John much appreciated.
I have tried (for the last 2 hours!!) to upload some photos but it won't work. Even one by one the file is too big apparently. I'll ask a child for assistance tomorrow :)

What a wonderful start to my day Smithy62!
As a collector of glass animals and birds, I am still totally in awe of the amazing skill of these glass artists to make such beautiful accurate interpretations of these creatures.
I would give house room to any of your glass, and if you can show the signature of the clear glass dog, I will see if I recognise it for you.
Rubbing talcum powder into the signature often helps to make it easier to photograph.
I'll pop back later on to see if you have done that. It could be L. Zanetti or even Marcolin, but I won't know until I see the signature.

Good talcum powder tip, thank yu. Turns out it reads LINEA V N. Pic won't work as laptop is in Sunday mode :)

Post a picture when you lap top says 'OK'... OK?
I may recognise it better if I see it... also a full side view of the doggie and a full picture of the base all with a plain white background will help me to help you the best I can S.

Thank you Smithy62, I am pretty certain that the V N Is for V. Nason, a high quality glass maker. If you Google V. Nason Art Glass Dog, you will see a very similar doggie to yours. It looks as though yours was specially engraved as a gift, how lovely.

By the way, you can increase your pictures to 700 length and it does make a big difference to clarity.

Now almost 4 years later and now that Pino has passed away would you think his pieces are now valuable and saleable?

There is a big difference between the glass Master Pino Signoretto and the Signoretti glass factory !!!

The big black swan is by Pino himself.

Values are subjective so not something many here will commit themselves to as we are not appraisers. It depends on the marketplace and who wants what you're selling on the day you sell it.
