i love this petite egg/cone weight. Stark, simple, clean lines.
It is signed Peter with a last name unreadable. It's been suggested that its by Peter Holmes, any thoughts?
-
Hi there, will say I have never seen a weight of Peters like this and he is quite capable of signing much better than that, so I would suggest NO at the moment. But I could be wrong as there is a similarity in signature. Any ideas Andrew?
Regards Roger.

Thanks Roger,
I do see the similarity on the second (faceted) piece, but certainly not enough to say yes with any certainty.

Early Peter Vanderlaan?
-
It definitely looks like Peter Holmes to me and the Scottish Borders label seems to confirm this

I think you're looking at the wrong weight - you're looking at the example shown of Border Art Glass, not the OP's.
-
Could not understand what you ment at first but I can now. Yes the label is 100% correct on mine but thats not what the original question was about for identity of.

I was responding to daveweight, RogerH.
I don't think the facetted egg shaped weight looks anything like Peter Holmes' work, but it would not be beyond him to make something like that. Never say never.
-
I'm 99% certain that isn't Peter Holmes' work. I do have a couple of weights frosted like that, but they dont have the same base, and it doesn't look like how Peter signs Peter either.
