Title: Red bulbous vase with polished pontil - unknown acid stamp maker's mark - help
Post by: angel2 on August 23, 2014, 09:01:04 AM
Hello,

Could anyone suggest a maker for this vase please? I thought it was Whitefriars when I picked it up but not with this acid stamp on the pontil I guess...

Thanks

Could it be the British Heart Foundation?

it's similar to the BHF logo, but some noticeable differences.        Must admit I wasn't aware that they did produce their own backstamp on glass.

There has been a Chinese 'heart with arrow' in recent years, but obviously not this one.

That's the logo for Habitat so I 'suspect' it's a newer piece:  http://www.habitat.co.uk/

Anik :)

well spotted - and quite correct, so would agree very modern.          Although I don't see that logo on Anik's link  -  might have missed it.

The logo can be found at the top left hand side, right beside the word 'Habitat' (granted, the logo there isn't dotted like on angel2's piece, but I'd think it's close enough).   :)
