Title: Chance glass promo / advertising dishes
Post by: SNJ on August 24, 2014, 07:15:36 PM
I suppose someone, somewhere might be interested in this rather dull anecdote. A raconteur I most certainly am not.

At a boot sale yesterday I came across a stall with 20 + Chance advertising or promotional dishes, mostly humdrum stuff which was neither interesting to look at, startling decorative or with what might be classified as an interesting subject matter.  If my brain had been engaged I would have asked the seller if he had any connection to the factory but sadly it wasn't so I didn't.  Opportunity lost unless he sells again next week which is unlikely.

I was a bit loath to buy them at a quid each but bought three that looked okay, link to the pic below. The Freightliners one, I would say, dates to the late 60s or early 70s, while the other two late 70s - early 80s (I know, I know, one's dated 1981, which helps).

I would be very interested in them, particularly the ones produced for the Chance promotions (two shown in your photo). Perhaps you can mail me? - just click the envelope on the side of this message.
Many thanks
