A very nice looking paperweight I think it looks like a Clichy.

I'm looking at it on my phone so not the best to say but it looks like it could be whitefriars?

Hi. Is it possible to post a couple of close-ups of some of the canes? The facets make it very difficult to see what is going on, and I think the clues to the ID will be in the canes.

Hi Alan
Sorry I cannot post any other pictures. The paperweight is not mine but someone I know who lives in Switzerland sent the picture to me . Its on display in a castle somewhere in Switzerland.

Hi Roy.
Interesting - a year or so ago a Swiss collector sent me some images of a different facetted paperweight filled with millefiori canes, not unlike your image in terms of overall impression. I got some close up images, and the canes were complex, well made, including some shard roses...but not like any with which I was familiar. I don't think it is from the same source as yours, but odd that they both turn up in Switzerland.
I wonder whether the one you show might be early Saint-Louis? I have an early close-pack with fairly pale canes.

St. Louis is a possibility. I don't think it is clichy though.

Its on display in a castle somewhere in Switzerland.
Would it be possible to find out which castle?
-
Yes I can find out early next week exactly the location .

Thank you, Roy !
Now - Palazzo Castelmur (http://www.palazzo-castelmur.ch/palazzo%20i.html) is not the region I visit daily ;-) ... but has been put on the list for the next visit of the area.
