I'm really excited about this piece... a very big and absolutely beautiful 'egg' ball vase from Atalier Ales Valner.
It is 15cm tall, 19cm wide and weighs very close to 7kg
I'm in love.

That must be an impressive piece at 7 kg...
I guess it displays beautifully with your Vizner egg vases :)

That is a very big WOW, Anik. A very serious statement piece!
So simple, so substantial, so elegant...
It would go really well with my Allistair Malcolm Platinum vases. ;)

Thank you for the kind comments, Michael and Sue! :-* It's such a great vase, I think it looks fabulous both alone and next to other fabby pieces.
By the way, when I first saw it, I thought it was an obscure Vizner -- obviously the similarities to the 6832 are more than strong: identical concept, different shape. Maybe that's why I love it so.
Now if I could only gather enough money to buy two more for the perfect cluster. ;D

These pieces are great quality Anik. I like the way it looks like a vase within a vase. Nice to see dedicated glassmaking continuing today ( but look out for windowsills and sunshine)!

Thank you, Robert. It is a quality piece -- the clarity of the glass and the finish are perfect.
It turns out I've got one more contemporary Valner in my collection: a wonderful cut bowl with some opalescence (which unfortunately doesn't show in my photos). Interestingly, it's signed 'sklo' to the base.
Both pieces are displayed safely and away from direct sunlight on my livingroom shelf. :)

One more Valner ball vase has found a home with me... this one with a great yellow 'egg' and slightly larger than the white.
I'm a happy collector. :)

;D
It's completely wonderful! I'm really happy for you. 8)
And one is yellow and one white - so appropriate for eggs.
But you need 3 to be a proper collector of these, and to balance the two you have on display. What other colours are available, do you know? An orange might be good, possibly my first choice to go with these (although orange is not my favourite colour by a long shot) - or a red or a black.
I've only got one Ales Valner but it's not desperately exciting like these, apart from the fact that I bought it years ago from TKMaxx just because I liked it - I didn't have a clue. I simply reckoned it was classy glass and well worth the price they asked.
So I was really, really pleased to discover what it was when Robert identified it for me later.

Thank you, Sue! I believe the balls come in a wide variety of colours. I would love to have a third, but seeing as they're around 7kg each, I don't think my shelf would survive the weight.
Ales Valner has got a page on Facebook called Valner Glass s.r.o which could do with more followers -- I think he's incredibly talented: https://www.facebook.com/valnerglass
