Hi all,i have to admit to nearly bursting into "the hills are alive" when i dig out a glass like this,a humble inexpensive thing i know but none the less rings my bells for some strange reason.I guess 1870 or there abouts with a text book shear mark and a bit of a ring,it's 5" ht with a slight ring and i think sits well making no apology for itself, would this be a pub rummer or wine glass, many thanks.

my suggestion would be that this comes nearer to a wine goblet than a rummer.
The rummer shape of which you're speaking i.e. dating from about 1780 and which continued for about the next 100 years, or perhaps a little more - is characterized by a more rudimentary stem that this, and has a bowl that is disproportionate to the overall size of the glass - which I don't think this illustrates. :)
Judging by the colour, I'd also suggest this isn't lead glass.

Thanks Paul ,it's more yellow than pink in the real and does have a ring ,i suppose that's a shape thing.
