A Sowerby purple malachite ‘vase’’ to pattern 1357, shown as such on page 7 of the Sowerby pattern book IX (1882). Bears the lozenge registry date mark for 12 August 1878 – Parcel 6. Approximately 2 3/8 inches high and 3½ inches wide handle to handle.

I have never seen an actual piece in this pattern before, and I know of no other photos of a similar piece, so certainly a scarce item. Does anyone have photos to show of this pattern in other colours, please?
The lozenge for 12 August 1878 covers a bundle of 4 Sowerby design registrations :
#324929 flower vase
#324930 round salt seller (which I know is pattern 1330)
#324931 vase
#324932 four footed vase (so this is obviously not pattern 1357)
so, I’m currently not sure if pattern 1357 is from RD 324929 or from RD 324932 or, indeed, what RD 324932 looks like. No pix to assist in Thompson, Cottle, Murray, Slack or Hajdamach unfortunately.
If Paul S. happens on this post, I wonder if he would be so kind as to look and see if he has any Sowerby design representations of the bundle to help, please?

As far as I can see Fred this piece has nothing in common with Rd. Nos. 324929, 30 or 32........... but it does share some distinctive features with 324931, although a little bit of artistic license taken I think. So my feeling is that this is 324931 - I think you have discounted 324932 in view of 'four separate feet'.
I'll post pix of all four items later this afternoon, and you'll then see what I mean.

let me know Fred if you agree that Sowerby pattern 1357 is most likely to be Rd. 324931.

Thank you for the design representations, Paul.
I agree that Sowerby pattern 1357 most closely approximates RD 324931.
I can’t see anything in the pattern books that is even vaguely like the ornate flower vase shown as RD 324929, though Sowerby patterns 1331 and 1346 have that daisy motif (but I already have other Sowerby RD numbers that correlate with those).
As I indicated, RD 324930 correlates with Sowerby pattern number 1330 (and I already have a reference photo for that).
So that only leaves RD 324932 which, for the moment, I can’t match with a particular Sowerby pattern number either.
