Does this base and top of a millefiori paperweight ring any bells with anyone? The base has a metal plaque inbedded, but there is opaque glass over the top of part of it, so I can't read it :(

Research by Board member "daveweight" showed this to be a medallion depicting a logo for the "Tullis Russell" company (in the paper business). These weights were made at Vasart Ltd in 1959.

thank you so much Kev, much appreciated. btw, have you migrated any of the content of your website anywhere? so much work to be lost :(

ah, also see your comment about acetone and clearing the clouding of the resin.. did you just swipe and scrape?

I had to dig deep with the knife after each of many applications, after soaking for a few hours each time. The acrylic was unclear all the way through so it was a case of full removal not just clearing a top layer.
As for my web pages ... no, nothing decided yet.
