I Have a paperweight that i am unsure of the makers and think maybe possibly by Debbie Tarsitano , it measures 6 cm across the base and 4.5 cm tall, and is a simple garland of flowers set mid way up the weight. It is made with a light blue coloured glass the base is polished with an oval area slightly indented. The weight has 2 canes which are difficuilt to make out , there is a letter cane which could either be an "A" or a "D" depending how you look at it, there is also another cane that looks to have the number "8" on it and initials "D T " i have enclosed some pictures and would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this weight.I have put links to some pictures below.

I think one of the people who actually worked on this weight may well see this message ... and confirm the details for you.
I believe it's from John Deacons' "Jay Glass" period when Allan Scott produced the lampwork and John Deacons made the weight (1979 to 1981). The "A" cane was recognition of Allan's part in the production. I would also have expected a "J" cane in there somewhere.
I'm not sure what the "DT" cane could be, but sometimes small cane details are easily misshapen and can appear to be something other than they started out as.

As noted above, your paperweight is from the early John Deacons furnace, Jay Glass probably.
This style of lampwork chain of flowers was Deacons' tribute to the similar styling of classic French paperweights from St. Louis. You can find photographs of this style of St. Louis circle of flowers in various auction catalogues and in some books. I've include a copy of a photo from Edith Mannoni's book Classic French Paperweights. It appears on page 33.
We have one John Deacons chain - or circle - of flowers paperweight, signed JD (no other initialing) that we purchased a few years ago in Scotland. The D in our weight is similar to the D in your weight. Like yours, this is a heavy paperweight with a high dome. What you can be sure of is that it is not Tarsitano, neither Debbie nor Delmo.

Many thanks for all your help with the information , on closer inspection of the cane i can make out 1980 and "J" initial ,Cheers Gordon

Hi Gordon,
Just to confirm that Kev was spot on with his post.The weight along with others was made by John Deacons and myself exclusively for Larry Selman .This one was named "Clematis Garland" and was in the 1981 collection.
