Title: Could this possibly be an Archimede Seguso Oro Cordonati vase?
Post by: adriana on October 18, 2014, 07:16:25 PM
I found this vase yesterday and it is similar to other Seguso oro cordonati pieces I see on the web and in one of my Italian art glass books.  It stands 9 1/4" tall and weighs 4 1/2 pounds.  Unsigned with a ground and polished base.  Can anyone either confirm or deny that this is such a vase?  If not, any other ideas?  Thanks so much in advance!

Something about it seems not right. I would expect the cords to run proud all the way to the rim and be cut off there, they look as though they have been worked right into the body towards the top. It also looks as if gold has been used sparingly, just on the green instead of on the whole vase.

There are a couple of other inconsistencies too.
