Title: Nice little water/lemonade set
Post by: Bernard C on October 21, 2014, 04:51:05 AM
See click main image to enlarge GlassGallery image at http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-20615

Jug h. exactly 3" (7.5cm), w. 19g ½oz.   Each glass h. 1 1/8" (2.9cm), w. 2g.

Beautifully made and no sign of wear (not that I expected any).

Can I assume that this is a dolls' house set or is there some other possible explanation?   Any ideas of date, manufacturer or even country of origin?   Note the exact inch size of the jug.

Thanks for your interest,

even if it were a child's sized set, I have my doubts about it being a lemonade or water set mostly due to the impracticality of the shape of the pitcher for such a purpose, which in this case may actually be a decanter. lemonade or water sets usually have wider mouths to make filling and pouring easy. similar observations apply to the glasses, which in the case of water are generously sized. this shape and size (even supposing that it is for children) seems more suited for liquors.
