I,
I recently purchased this pair of dram glasses at a fair for a very small amount of money. Crudely made with a bubble in the stem, striated bowl & 3.5" high with lots of seeds & bubbles in the glass. The foot is very small at 1.5" diameter but exhibits an un-polished pontil scar. They are heavy for the size, but I am not sure they are lead crystal or not. not much of a "ding".
Firstly can anyone help on the age of these glasses / are they dram glasses, and is the foot the original size or has this been cut down ?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards
Rob

Hi ,
yep, dram glasses would be correct, probably central European non lead ,most likely Germany and second half of the 18th c,these are fairly common and can vary in quality dramatically, the foot you show looks fine to me even though a little rough and poorly made.
cheers,
Peter.
