Title: Archimede Seguso Green & Amber Random Bullicante Fish (Label)
Post by: kane_u_pain on November 04, 2014, 07:47:04 AM
Hi All :)

Hope you are all enjoying the SVdA book! I am yet to get a copy! Hopefully a Xmas present!

Here is my Green & Amber with random bullicante sommerso fish :)

Has the Red & White Seguso label! So thought I should add here for reference!

Hi Kane how are you doing? I have a large vase/light base with this label. I always assumed it was SvdA. Is there a way of telling?

regards

PS will post picture tomorrow as it is getting late in Sydney.

Hi Ardy, I am good thanks and yourself?

I know the fish is well documented. I don't have the SVdA book yet as no cash to buy it at the moment.  Will hopefully buy it in the next few weeks :) So I am not sure about A.S and his links to SVdA in the 50's. I am assuming he didn't cut all ties! Maybe someone here who has the book could comment? But the Murano thread seems to be dead...

Would love to see your piece! Put it up soon!

I have bought a lot more SVdA pieces from the 30's, 40's & 70's (well over a 100) over the past year or so. Will list these once I have the book so I can list pieces with hopefully more information for reference for future.

Such a warm start coming into summer! Reckon the bush fire season might be bad this year! Hopefully they done the proper back burning!

Not sure why it the Murano site is dying but there it is. Hope you can bring some light on this piece. Bought it from Germany (D&A) several years ago

This was designed as a lamp but without the hole in the base. We use it as a vase as we have heaps of lamps. Still have the lamp attachment for the top.

It's 48cm high, 22cm diameter at widest, weighs 4.2kgs

regards to you and yours over the Christmas period if we don't get to talk again.

Ardy

Hi Ardy, sorry for the late reply!

Yep, Xmas is here! And being in Logistics, I am in hell till it is over! LOL

Typically you had to buy a piece that I always find hard to identify and that confuses me! Large piece/heavy, clear glass with the applied gold foil ribbon! beggar you!

Let me buy the book and review it to help me better understand (hopefully) this style, colour etc of SVdA!

First thoughts...later SVdA. What does the attachment look like? Pics? That might help me...

I have about 20 or so (haven't taken a proper count) of SVdA & A.S Lamps (finally got a few pairs! WoooHoo!)

Also, still need to understand the SVdA numbering! Shame they didn't do the Swedish style of numbering!

Auto correct on beggar! You know the aussie slang for it ;)

Hi Kane this is the piece with it's lid.

I am not a fan of lights with cables joining half way up. So a vase it is.
