Title: Iridescent glass perfume bottles help please.
Post by: brucebanner on November 09, 2014, 02:49:55 PM
Spent most of the day trying to identify two perfume bottles. They both appear to be made by the same company, both have very similar stoppers.

Appear well made with an iridescent finish.

The pink one is 6 1/2 inches in height and the white one 5 3/4 inches.

regards Chris.

I believe these are Lundberg studio bottles. http://www.lundbergstudios.com/

Also, check out our Virtual Museum at www.perfumebottles.org -- we  have lots of studio glass to view. I own 2 Lundbergs, awesome colors.

Chinese were doing some like this about 20+ years ago. I think Lundbergs had polished bottoms and these appear to not have a ground and polished bottom.

 :)
I'm afraid I don't think the bottles in question are of such good quality as Lundberg.
The pink design does seem to appear as a query quite frequently, I am never very sure if it might or might not be Maltese, as some of the colours and techniques are similar to some of their designs. The smaller bottle in white with the strapped banding has a bit of a Kosta look about it, but I am really starting to suspect these both might be modern lookalikes from the far east.  :-\

Alas, photos don't provide what the hands can in feeling smoothness, cut glass or heft. The Asians have copied just about everything so you may be most correct. Our Virtual Museum is a good resource as we ask for documentation (signatures, literature references) where available. Sometimes one can find something very close.

Kosta Boda is a good glass. I have multiple small pear shaped perfumes. But they are signed and are hefty.

Good luck in your quest.

I have seen and felt these - so I do know they are not of the same quality and finesse as Lundberg.
Not that I've managed to handle much Lundberg, I don't see it around. I just know it's a name that makes me take a little step backwards in respect. These bottles just don't quite have the same effect. ;D

The rims look as if they have been cracked off so this would suggest a larger studio or factory.
