Title: Glass salt with ‘helmeted soldier & mace’ trademark + 2536 – ID, please?
Post by: agincourt17 on November 13, 2014, 11:46:25 AM
A rectangular press-moulded clear glass salt, the inside if the base with an embossed oval trademark of the torso of a helmeted and armoured bearded soldier bearing a spiked mace in his right hand above the number 2536.

(Permission for the re-use of these images on the GMB granted by cornucopia27).

Does anyone have an ID for the manufacturer and/or date, please?

Fred.

Thank you very much, Anne and Ivo.

I see that the trademark is described as depicting  „Ritter mit Stachelkeule“ which 1 gather translates to something like a ‘knight with a barbed cudgel”.

In fact, I have found salt #2536 on page 3 of their 1913 Musterbuch at:

though it has disappeared by their 1930 Musterbuch.
