Hi ,
Can someone help me with this Davidson pattern please ?
This looks like clear glass but it also has a very subtle lilac colour to it as in 2nd picture .
Measures 23 cm or 9" in length and has the lion mark .
Many thanks in advance , Dave.

The subtle lilac colour is because it's been sitting around in daylight for 100 years and the manganese decoloriser has turned purple. Look up sun purpling. Are you sure it's Davidson?

Thanks Lustrouss , I've not heard of sun purpling before ,.
Here is a pic of the mark , Dave.

Certainly looks like the Davidson lion popping up over a wall. I wondered whether it might be Greener

The oval dish is Davidson pattern number 24, shown in their catalogues of unregistered designs dating from between 1880 and 1890.
As can see from the catalogue illustration, it was offered in a range of different sizes.
