Hello,
I have a beautiful large cut crystal decanter and need help identifying it. It is signed, but I am not sure who made it.
Any help would be appreciated.
-
I suspect that's a Riedel mark. I'll go and look for a source which might give you a date.
got it, but sadly, your mark might be a bit earlier than is catalogued, (or I might be completely wrong).

I'm sure somebody will be able to help you though. Just have a little patience until the right person comes along.

Thanks, Sue.
I appreciate any and all help :)

It's rather a spectacular thing, isn't it?
Sorry, I forgot to say welcome, so; "Welcome to the gmb!" :)
Old and cut glass isn't my "thing", but there are plently of folk here, whose "thing" it is. I'm sure somebody else will be able to help you far more than I can.

Thank you so much for the welcome. I love glass and hope I can be a contributing member of this forum.
This one has me stumped though.

I thought it may be Leerdam glass. These marks are as close as I could get.

I guess I should have put Leerdam in the title :-\
-
Would you like me to ask a moderator to do that? (Put Leerdam? in the title)
I really think we could do with some input from somebody who knows more than I do about fabulous, enormous and unusual decanters! :'(
-
That would be great if it's not too much trouble. Thanks so much for your help!
-
Sorry never no Leerdam. It is Czech, just don't ask me which one.
-
Thanks.. I thought that the Leerdam mark was the closest, except I see now that their lines are straight on the signature and mine aren't.
Also after a lot of research, it doesn't look like their style of glass.
I'll research Czech marks today and post if I come up with something.

If Ivo says no to Leerdam, you can believe him.
Ivo is the Ivo Haanstra, author of "Glass Fact File A-Z". :)
