Title: 'Rubina Verde' posy vase, ribbed with clear foot and opalescent decoration .

I hope I have described this correctly (more like pinky-verde  ;) ) . It's 4 1/4 inches tall . There isn't a polished pontil mark to the foot but it does have some age. It is fully cased in light green vaseline glass which reacts under UV light including the ribbed ball stem . The foot is clear. There is no reaction to UV for the opalescent decoration under the rim.

I got a bit lost at the end of the above thread ....this vase of mine seems to be simply pink (thin gold-based red ?) cased in vaseline all made from the same mould apart from the applied clear foot.

Any idea of date and maker please.....? Thanks Mike

Yours is not really rubina verde, as there is no shading, though the uranium layer must shade if the opalescent part does not react under UV. The pink obviously contained the arsenic or whatever for the heat reaction to turn opalecscent.

Ahh, I get it now !

So it's the bursting of the blown gold-ruby bubble that gives the gradation of colour from cranberry to green and this is simply an overlay example ! I understand now  ::) ...sorry for the confusion  ::)....it was the last bit of the rubina verde thread above that I couldn't quite understand but it's all clear now. Thanks very much !
