Title: Help pls to identify signed studio glass - unusual!
Post by: Valsky on January 13, 2015, 01:53:33 PM
Hello,

Unfortunately I am having to downsize my collection of art glass and, to help me to do this, I need to try and identify some of the pieces which I've collected over the years (within the UK) without much history attached to them.

This first item is a lovely piece of iridescent glass, measuring approx. 5" high and is quite heavy.  It is signed to the base - my best guess is; R Mynott 2001.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

With thanks in advance,
Val

There is a Ron Mynatt that has been a studio glassblower here in the U.S. for many years. He's located in Arkansas. A google search will pop up all sorts of references to him. just a possibility.

Hello,
Thank you so very much - that does seem to be the artist!

Just taking a quick look at some of the images it seems that I have a perfume bottle but that I am missing the stopper, but his work is quite distinctive and I think you've guessed correctly.

Thank you very much again.
Best Wishes
Val
