Post by: mhgcgolfclub on January 17, 2015, 06:15:57 PM
Help please to ID this vase my first thought was most likely Monart but cannot match up shape so not so sure that it is Monart.

Polished pontil.
Mottled green and orange with quite a few air bubbles with gold adventurine.

Height 8.25"
Diameter at rim 5.75"
Weight 1220gm

Thanks Roy

Definitely not Monart, most likely the same maker as seen in link below (top right hand side).

Hi,
I second Gary, definitely not Monart  - quite a lot of these -probably Czech - seem to have this "central" panel of decoration in a sort of triangular shape  - though often the shapes can be similar to Monart! The green colour is often a bit "off" for Monart.
 Is the glass quite thick?

Hi

Thanks for confirming what I thought may be the case.

The glass is not that thick not like the heavy pieces referred to as cellophane, this piece is about the same as Monart pieces I have had.

Thanks again Roy
