Smallish vase in clear glass with applied purple glass on the base which has dripped or pulled up the sides and ending in a little blob. It has an etched name and date which I think is 91. The name looks to be only 3 letters. Any help appreciated. Thanks Chris

EG = Eileen Gordon, on the Mornington Peninsula, SE of Melbourne. One of the famous Gordon family of glass artists, which includes her parents Alasdair and Rish Gordon, and brother Kevin (all engravers), and her husband Grant Donaldson and son Hamish Donaldson (like Eileen, both hot glass artists).
Eileen Gordon and her family have been mentioned several times before on the GMB (best located using the Search box at the top of the page).
After initial education in glass in the UK, she trained at the Jam Factory in Adelaide 1980-82, before helping to set up Tasmanian Glassblowers with James Dodson (mentioned recently on the GMB). In 1990, she and Grant established Gordon Studio Glassblowers in country Victoria, later moving to the current location.
The images below show an early specimen of her iconic "Egyptian" perfume bottles, similarly signed. The same style of bottle is still in production and can be seen on her website (http://www.gordonstudio.com.au/portfolio-eileen-gordon-perfume-bottles.html).
Later small production items are often signed GS for Gordon Studio, to indicate that other hands may have been involved in their making.
